Home is where the heart is, and just for Sandra Hall! lol

This is another piece using my new Crafty Individuals stuff. I wanted to use the lovely country house images CI-263 and decided to create a 'house'. The base is made of grey board, painted, dry brushed and overstamped with CI-116 crackle stamp.

The roof is just punched circles, painted and dry brushed over. To create the clock I stamped one of the clock images from CI-255, punched it out, added a curtain ring for the frame and filled it with Dimond Glaze. The little bird perched on the chimney is one of the 162 images from the new book 'Natures Beauty', as are the two butterflies.

I used a white gel pen to create the look of stitches around the 'windows'. The photo below shows the detail of the stitches, crackle overstamping and canvas background which was created with thick Jo Sonja acrylics and spray inks. The little word tiles are just strips of card, painted and written on with a black biro.

Now something especially for you Sandra!!!!!!!!!! You asked the sizes of the arches and if they were hand made, so here's something I hope will help you, and hopefully others!
They can be any size, but mine were 23cm x 16cms for the 'HOPE' one and the WEDDING ones were 18cms x 9cms for the inside one and 26cms x 14cms for the outside one.
They were made using handmade templates, as seen here.

To make them fold copy or any scrap paper in half then draw half an arch. Make sure you draw from the fold, (on the left as above). This also works easily for hearts!

Cut out and open to reveal a symetrical arch shape and use it as a template.

To make an artisan shape, fold the paper in half, then half again, draw a shape similar to the one above, cut around the line and open the first fold. You will end up with something like this, which is great to use as a template for mini book pages or card backgrounds.

If you open it further you will end up with this, below.

This is great for using on a scrapbook layout. You can make any of these as small or big as you want. I just play about with scraps of paper until I am happy with the result. Hope this helps Sandie !!!!!!!!!!!!
